DANCE TECHNIQUES FROM THE AFRICAN AMERICAN PERSPECTIVE

The continuity of African American dance from traditional African to contemporary American through dance technique. Introduction to several dance forms: traditional, modern, and jazz; the cultural history that influenced these dance forms; and the contributions of significant choreographers. Dance performance attendance is required. Offered annually.
